A Higher Urgency

Image
Oh my gosh the work here is absolutely exploding!!! Like literally such an amazing week! So many people have a desire to learn more about Christ and are looking for the truth. And it's been so cool to see! So we had our Leadership counsel meeting this week and it was sooo good. Our President talked a lot about needing to live, study, breathe, talk, teach, and serve with a higher urgency to fulfill our objective as missionaries. I love this quote by President Holland because I feel this too! "I cannot speak fully of that experience here, but I can say that part of what I received was an admonition to return to my ministry with more urgency, more consecration, more focus on the Savior, more faith in His word." On Saturday we had a special surprise visit from Elder Douglas of the Area Seventy! It was an awesome meeting and we were the only zone in the mission to have it! He talked a lot about the same urgency that we need to help more children of God make Covenants. We read ...

Life Is Good

Hey everyone!! The weeks are flying by and we're doing great our here in Cholula. We've got some good stuff cooking up! Life and good and we are working hard! Soooo we had transfers and I stayed here in Quetzacoatl, Cholula and Elder Yoder left and I got a new companion named Elder Heaton! He's awesome and he's from Wyoming. Things are looking good here and we're hyped to get working! Also, fun fact, we're the official Yoga teachers for the mission which is so fun haha. Well, the Puebla Temple open house has officially ended but it was such a blessing for the people in Puebla. God is so good!! Puebla is the promised land and everyone will be very blessed for having a House of the Lord. Our friend named Angel Ramon came to the temple with us last week and he LOVED IT! He felt so much peace and love and the spirit was calling to him. Yesterday, he came to church and we were able to put a baptismal date for him! The spirit really does testify to bring God's chi...

Pillars And Rays

I remember my first interview with my stake president for my mission very clearly. He asked 3 different times why I desired to serve a mission. After 3 failed attempts of an explanation, he explained to me that I needed to serve a mission because I loved the Savior and His work. He further told me that I would be the  most important  convert on my mission would be myself. I tell this story because this Wednesday I will hit 18 months in my mission. This past General Conference weekend was filled with talks of our covenants, temples, and prayer. But I LOVED the talk by Elder Dushku about our testimony. We usually will never see a pillar of light like The First Vision, but many combined rays of light can become just as powerful. I would like to show you my rays of light that I have seen on my mission that have converted me into a better missionary and disciple of Jesus Christ. - I gained a testimony that God knows me personally when in my training I knelt down in prayer with tear...

High On The Mountaintop

Wow!!! It's been an amazing week!! Like absolutely incredible!! We have been so blessed for our efforts as missionaries. We had interviews with President on Friday and he really helped me to understand that God will bless us for every single efforts we out into the mission work. We've been working so hard in Quetzalcoatl and sometimes it's been hard to see those fruits. But then he promised me that every single effort I make, the Lord will consecrate them into blessings. He invited me ponder the following quote from Presidente Russell m Nelson, "Anytime you do anything that helps anyone—on either side of the veil—take a step toward making covenants with God and receiving their essential baptismal and temple ordinances, you are helping to gather Israel. It is as simple as that." AND WE HAVE SEEN SO MANY BLESSINGS ITS CRAZY!!!! First of all, we got permission to go to the temple open house with our friends in teaching! So we went Saturday night and it was so bea...
