The Biggest Power Move In Human History

Image
Hola a Todos!! I hope that all of you are all doing amazing!! It was a kinda slow week here so ima gonna explain what we did for last P-Day. So, we went to Cholula, which is a part of Puebla that is soooo cool. Cholula has 365 Catholic churches in it (One for every day of the year). The city is so beautiful with a ton of shops, restaurants, and other awesome cultural things. But the coolest part of Cholula is that it has the biggest pyramid in the WORLD!!! (If you don't believe me look it up, it's called The Great Pyramid of Cholula) It is so cool to see the ruins of this ancient Mayan temple and everything. It's mostly overgrown and everything, so you can only see certain parts of the ruins, but it has tunnels that you can enter but they are closed because of the pandemic which is muy triste. But, the reason why it is so popular is because when the Spanish invaded Mexico to conquer it, they built a HUGE catholic church on top of their temple to, you know, disgrace their re...

Here A Little, There A Little

What's up everyone! It was another absolutely amazing week out here in Puebla! Had some amazing food, met some awesome people, and got my testimony strengthened. La vida misional: there's nothing quite like it. English Class!!  So, we started an English class on Thursdays and it is a big hit! It is soooo much fun to teach and it makes me feel a lot better about my spanish too. We get all kind of people there: members, inactives, investigadors, and just people from the community. Everyone here just wants to learn and practice their English with us so we were like what the heck let's start an English Class, and it has been such an awesome experience so far! Mexican Buses!!  Alright as you guys can probably guess, the Mexican buses are absolutely WILD!!! First of all, there's like buses and there's something called Combis. And combis are like the 15 passenger vans, where they scrape out all the chairs except a few and you just stand in them. They're insane. One tim...

A Week Of Miracles

Image
Hey everyone!! I hope everybody's week was fantastic. This week was absolutely amazing and we literally saw so many miracles that I'm going to talk about today. Ok so first off, we were able to set 3 baptismal dates for the Dominguez-Fuentes Family this week!!! Their story is super cool. So basically the son is going through a really hard divorce and he has a baby that he can't even see anymore because of it which is sooo sad. So one day he was kinda depressed watching Youtube when an ad for the church popped up!! And so he requested a visit for his family and we've been teaching them ever since. He said to us on our last visit that he used to just wake up and get so mad and just throw and break things in his room, but now he has finally found the peace that he has always wanted in his life. They are all so receptive to the spirit it is so cool, and they are like the dream family. I am so happy for them and their decision.  Also, Friday was my birthday!! I am sorry that...

Wise Men, Sharks, And Volcanoes

What's up everyone?!?! This week has been pretty business as usual so basically I am going to just tell a few cool things that have been going on. Día de Los Reyes Magos!  So, basically an awesome tradition here in Mexico is that on the 6th of January, they celebrate the coming of the wise men to Jesus Christ. So like on Christmas it is just kind of like a day to celebrate Jesus but then everyone gives and receives gifts on the 6th of January representing the Wise Men. It is really cool and the kids even write letters to them. Rosca de Reyes!  Another similar tradition is that on Día de Los Reyes Magos they will eat a thing called a Rosca de Reyes which is like a big ring of bread that is really good. And so they will cut it into pieces and there is a little baby statue thing in one of the pieces. Whoever gets the baby has to buy Tamales for the entire group!! We did it for our district counsel and my companion got the baby and has to buy our entire district tamales now haha!!...

The Fateful Day Of December The 29th

Image
For my email this week I'm only going to explain the events that transpired on the great and dreadful day of the 29th of December. As some backstory, this last Thursday was very important to us and we had 5 pretty important lessons and we were going to end the day with our "Golden Family" which is the family we are teaching that has the most potential. Anyways, we were sitting in personal study when all of a sudden it hit me. HARD. I was not feeling good but that didn't matter because we had to teach a whole ton of lessons today. So, we headed to our lesson and during the whole time I was just trying so hard not to throw up. But, that didn't matter because literally during the lesson I hopped outside and threw up the hardest I've ever done in my life. My comp and the Hermana we were teaching didn't know what to do, but then I finished up and went back inside. But the best part was that our friend wasn't that interested until AFTER I threw up and then I...
