White House, Green Door

Hey everyone! This week was a little bit more low key, and so I'm just going to share one of the coolest miracles that happened to me in my mission. Basically we found a person that didn't exist.

Last week after P-Day ended we decided to go out and contact on the street. So we said a prayer and asked that we could find a new person to teach, and we only needed the help from God to be inspired to know where we needed to go.

So we headed out and I felt an impression to go down a certain street. As we were walking, we saw a store where a person that was once in teaching worked, and so we decided to see if she was there, it turns out that she was not, but the other person that was working there was and she was very interested in hearing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We found a new person! A miracle for us! After the lesson we decided to keep contacting to find another person.

This is when things get miracle-ly.

We came up with a strategy of picking a name and a street that came to out minds to use as a way to start conversations with people on the street. We picked the street Independencia and the name "Kevin".

When we came across people on the street we would ask them if they knew a Kevin who lived on Independencia. Trying to have a way to start a converstation. First we asked 2 men that were walking and they were like "Yes we do know Kevin!" We were dumbstruck. We didn't think that there was any way they would know him. We just wanted a reason to speak to them to get a conversation started! They asked what his house was like, and since we had no idea I just blurted out the first thing that popped into my head.  "A white house with a green door" They said they didn't know that house, but they did think Kevin lived on that street.  We said thanks and then asked if they wanted to learn more about the gospel and they weren´t too interested in learning so we continued on. 

But my companion turned to me and said," We need to find Kevin, and he will listen to our message."

So we went to work!  NOBODY else knew who this Kevin was or where he lived which was no surprise since really we didn't either haha!  We literally spent an hour talking to everyone. We were told that it was impossible to find him, and basically nobody was interested in hearing more from us.

So we were about to give up and go back home or get some food because literally Kevin was a "Foolish imagination of our hearts."  I was walking when my companion stopped and started to talk to another person. He was sitting in front of house on a motorcycle.

So he asked him, do you know Kevin? And he looked a bit startled and was like, "Im sorry, and who is asking?" And we told him that we were sent from God and we were looking for a Kevin to teach. Do you know Kevin? At that moment he got a phone call so he told us to wait for a little bit, and so we stood there looking around. We looked at the house he was parked in from of.  Guess what.

Our jaws dropped and then he finished the call and dropped the bomb!! 

"I am Kevin"

And he was SO SCARED and SURPRISED hahaha. We told him that we don't believe in coincidences and we only believed in Miracles. And he literally like took 2 steps back, he couldn't believe it like us. And we said to him, we need to talk to you about Jesus Christ. And he gratefully accepted and we returned and taught him again.

After the lesson, we could only just laugh. We LITERALLY created a person with our eye of faith and it turns out he was real, and wanted to hear our message. Kevin, the street, the house, and the door was all just random thoughts that popped into our head (or so we thought) to have an excuse to contact in the street. This is truly what Faith is, using your eye of faith to see and imagine things we can't see with our earthly eyes, and then doing everything possible to see it through. I have learned so much about what faith really is in my mission and I am seeing miracles everyday and every week. It says in Matthew 9:29,

"Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you."

I testify that according to your Faith in the Savior, it will be done unto you. Love you all! Have an amazing week!!
