Survived Another Week

Hey Everyone!! What's up? I hope you are all doing good, for the first time in forever we had a more chill week this week so let's see what went on.

We had an amazing conference on Wednesday with Elder Utt, a missionary that works in family history for the church. Because in October it is family history month leading up to Day of the Dead here in Mexico. We learned about how we can use genealogy to find more people to teach, and it was so awesome. And so this week we were running around creating accounts of all our people in teaching and our recent converts in Family Search.

We also started teaching Kevin this week, and he is so inspired and desirous to learn more about Jesus Christ and God. He has had a hard past, has been involved with a lot of Drugs, alcohol, and bad mental health. So, he came to church one time with his friends and he noticed a HUGE change in himself when he took the Sacrament, he felt like it got rid of all the pains and afflictions he had previously in his life. He is progressing really well, and we hope to put him on date for baptism soon!

Something that I have really loved about my mission and in this new assignment is being able to lose myself in the service of others. Now, I have an amazing chance to minister to my zone, my district, my people in teaching, my members, my companion, and the other 2 elders that live in the same house as me. Ministering is so important in our lives. I love it where it says in Alma 31:34-35,

34 "O Lord, wilt thou grant unto us that we may have success in bringing them again unto thee in Christ.

35 Behold, O Lord, their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee."

We already know that every soul is precious in the sight of God. We have a special responsibility to help them come unto Christ again. But how do we do that? Through ministering to their personal needs. And by the help of the Holy Ghost, we can gain this Power and Wisdom to know who we need to minister to and how we can minister to them. They are our brethren, and we must treat them as so. But we minister not to show the world that we are doing the right thing, but rather to bring them back to Christ, and back to their Heavenly Home.

Thank you all for reading this email. You all are the best, and don't forget that! I love you all and have an amazing week! (And sorry but I don't have too many photos)
