Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite
Hey everyone!! Another glorious week came and went out here in good ol Puebla. I hope you are all doing well and that you have enjoyed your summer vacation so far. Well, as always, a ton of stuff happened this week so let's just get into it.
But some big news happened: I'M STAYING IN REFUGIO WITH MY SON! So that was just absolutely HYPE when we heard that that was going to happen. So yes not much changed around here, pretty much all of our district stayed the same which is awesome because we are going to get to WORK this transfer.
Anyways, so we've been having a lot of bug bites recently and we previously thought it was just all the mosquitoes at night out in the streets. But then our District Leader commented one time that we might have Bed Bugs. And I was like "What the heck those things actually exist?!?!?"
Well, it turns out that they do exist, and the phrase "Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite!!" is a real phrase, and they have infested our beds!! So we've been getting eaten alive in our sleep by these bed bugs. And so now we have to call the secretaries to get everything solved, so that's just epic, right?
And so right now we've actually got a whole lot of progress happening with all our friends!! One of my favorite things to do is teach families. We've got 2 families of 4 progressing and it is always so fun to see the growth and the unity that the gospel brings to the family. I testify that when we make an extra effort to pray, study and read the scriptures, and have fun, spiritual activities together, we will be able to strengthen our families as much as possible.
I LOVE the scripture found in 2nd Nephi 2: 27-28 and it says,
27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;
We have an unbreakable law since the beginning of time, and that is the law of agency. We all have the gift to choose for ourselves. But this can be dangerous as well. We have a choice: between good and between evil. Between choosing the Savior Jesus Christ or the things of the world. Between an eternal reward or a minimal award here on earth. And of course, between everlasting Joy and everlasting Misery. How can we receive this reward? Through Jesus Christ, His commandments, and His doctrine. So please use your agency wisely!! It is a gift from on high, and we should use it wisely so that we can receive the great reward of salvation and exaltation.
And so with that invitation haha I ask each and every one of you to have such an amazing week! I love you all and I'll talk to you next week!!
