A Wild Week

Hey everyone!! Ok this week was absolutely insane as always and there is just so much to say and talk about so let's get into it.

Last monday, we went to Africam Safari which is like a sick drive through Jurassic Park thing with a whole bunch of African animals and it was so hype! I'll drop some pics down below. Then we got back to the house and we lost all power to the house for 2 days which sucked because we didn't have power to charge our phone so it died. So we didn't have anyones contact information or a way to make appointments or any way to call or text anyone.  There was also like a HUGE thunderstorm and the thunder was shaking our house and stuff and the lightning was the only light we had. It was intense. So then we eneded up running to the KFC to charge our phone and it was a total disaster. The phone was wet and wouldn't charge.

On tuesday we still didn't have our power and when we went to district counsel GUESS WHAT WE DISCOVERED?!?! The bed bugs are back! And we may or may not (but definitely did) spread them to the rest of our district, and so now everyone hates us!! wow. just kidding. Everything is epic here in Mexico.

On Thursday we had interviews with President Oyarzabal and it was epic as always. He literally has so much wisdom and POWER it was awesome. After interviews I did exchanges with my district leader Elder Chi. We had a good time together and taught some awesome lessons. Then we had an epic sleepover with the 4 Elders because Elder Chi didn't want to sleep in our bed bug infested house. It was an awesome night for the boys.

Everything was pretty chill until Sunday. We had a special Sunday where every member was invited to share an invitation with a friend to come to church. My companion and I were invited to give talks, which is hype but then, our mission President literally pulled up to the sacrament meeting which we didn't know about and he and his family all watched us give talks. I think it went well.  Then after church we finally had the chance to tell Hermana Oyarzabal everything about our house and she got things done! So now, for these past 24 hours all we have done is clean the house, and then evacuated the house so that it could be fumigated.

The work here has been really hard lately because of all these outside factors that we can't control which is frustrating but it's all good. we still out here grinding.

President shared an absolutely amazing scripture with me during our interview that has stuck with me so much lately. In the bible, Philippians 4:6-8 says,

"Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

I absolutely LOVE this scripture because it gives us the outline for when we have trials.

1. FIRST, you have to bury yourself in prayer and to let God know how you are feeling and what you are going through. God already knows of course, but still he asks us to talk with and counsel with him. He wants us to put our burdens on His son.

2. We have to realize that God WILL give us the peace we need. We have to practice our patience.

3. But while we wait for his holy peace, we have to put ourselves in Holy Places. Constant and fervent prayer. Deep diving in the scriptures. Stand upright in the church and in the temple.

Seeking after holy things. And if we practice diligence in this, we will find the promised gift of peace and comfort.

Well, that's it for this week! Thank you all so much for everything and have an amazing week!
