The Coolest Day Of My Life
Whats is going on everybody?!?! This week was literally insane and included one of the most hype days of my entre life!! Literally what the heck is the mission life it is whack, but i absolutely love it so much, there is literally no place on the earth that I would rather be right now. Alrighty, lets get down into it.
Ok first of all Atlixco is still trying to kill me, and the volcano is still absolutely GOING OFF. We are now mandated to wear glasses and masks outside. But, also this week God was like, "You know what would be kind of funny, THUNDERSTORMS!!" And so weve been hit with some wild storms. Like all the streets flooded and it was just a huge mess with traffic. And the ash is still falling. What the freak, its basically raining cement!! And never in my life I would have thought that I would one day be stuck in traffic in México, with my mexican companion, with 2 of my investigadors, during a flooding rainstorm, in their car having a discussion about our favorite flavors of Ramen, and what we would do if we were going to die tomorrow. I dont know what the heck God is preparing me for the the rest of my life with these experiences, but hey its alright.
Also, this past friday was one of the coolest days of my life, because it was the baptism of Ana Luisa, Jorge, and Mateo Gonzales Lopez!! I met this family a few months ago, and it has been such an amazing time being able to teach them and bring them the Joy of the gospel. They just wanted to find a way to create unity in the Family and to find true happiness. And then a few days ago they were baptized.
But, also on Friday they got Married!! And that was such an epic experience, I literally was a witness at a wedding!! It was just a day full of smiles and Joy. The ceremony was so cool, and they even did the "I Do" stuff in spanish it was so lit. We had to do basically everything for it, like do the blood tests, bring the papers, and other stuff. And there was SO MANY PROBLEMS we had to overcome, but we put the things in the hands of the Lord, and he delivered them. It was an experience I'll never forget.
Later that day, they were baptized and it was so hype we had like half of the ward pull up to support them and ill literally never forget it. Everything was just perfect. They took the very first step in becoming an eternal family and all they want to do is enter in the temple to get sealed for all time and eternity. They also bore their POWERFUL testimonies about how they were doubtful at the start of everything, but they received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost.
Yesterday night after their confirmations, we went and visited their house and WOW. Never has the spirit punched me so hard in my soul then when we walked in their house. It was just so full of the spirit, light, warmth, peace, and joy!! The gospel has changed their lives and I am so grateful for having been able to teach them and help them create a more united family. They made so many sacrifices to make it to this point, and it is a decision that will bless them for the rest of their lives.
Ive actually been thinking of this a lot lately, because there is NOTHING more important then the family. President Packer taught,
“The ultimate purpose of every teaching, every activity in the Church is that parents and their children are happy at home, sealed in an eternal marriage, and linked to their generations”
I testify that the family is ordained of God. Everything we do here in the church, baptism, the sacrament, prayer, all leads back to the family. 1. To find happiness and joy in this life and 2. Find happiness, joy, and glory in the life to come. We can be together with our families forever. The way has already been set our for us. We just have to act and put it into action. And that is my invitation today. Go out and act and do something nice for your family!!!! Read together. Pray together. Do some "Wholesome Recreational Activities" because the family is the biggest way that God shows his love for us. I love you all!! Have an amazing week!!
