Cinco De Mayo In Mexico?!?!?!
Wow. Another transfer has come and gone just like that, It is absolutely crazy how much time flies, but also it isn't a surprise because I am absolutely loving every single minute of it!! But how are you all doing?? It was an absolute BANGER of a week to end the transfer, but here we go!!!
First of all we received transfer news!!! And, I will be staying here in Atlixco for another transfer, which is absolutely HYPE because I have loved it here and we have found a lot of success. Also, I have been assigned as a trainer!!! And so tomorrow I will receive a brand new missionary from the MTC! I couldn't be more excited to introduce a new missionary to the mission life and we were gonna get to WORK which I can't wait for.
Also, fun fact, we lost our cell phone this week haha. My companion and I were absolutely ZONKED on a combi and we woke up and we were already at our stop, and so we hurried and got off the combi... without our phone. And so that really sucked because we couldn't do basically anything without our area book or contacts or anything like that so that was fun to deal with. And we won't receive a new one til tomorrow at transfers. Oh well, life goes on I guess.
Also, this week was Cinco de Mayo!! Alrighty quick history lesson here. After the Mexicans won their independence, the French attacked them. And this battle took place in the state of Puebla. And the Mexicans won on the 4th of May, and so they actually celebrate 5 de Mayo on the 4th of May which is pretty cool because they wrecked the French in this battle. It was pretty low key, the bigger celebrations took place in the city of Puebla. I don't know why we celebrate it in the States, probably just an excuse to eat tacos and wear sombreros.
A scripture that I have thought about a lot this week is, 1 Nephi 15:8-9 that says,
"And I said unto them: Have ye inquired of the Lord? 9 And they said unto me: We have not; for the Lord maketh no such thing known unto us.
This scripture comes from Laman and Lemuel after Nephi asked them if they prayed about the truth of the things that they have seen. And they said God wont reveal the truth to them. You know what? They were right. God never revealed anything thing to them. And he probably won't reveal too many things to these type of people. Because they don't have the faith necessary to receive an answer. To receive an answer or to receive revelation takes two parts. One part from God, and a part from us it to have the faith. So please please please always remember to ask with faith, and act in faith. Because faith without works is dead.
