Vice President Of Axocopan
Lets just jump into it!!
Well, México has still been absolutely going off. Weve been having a whole ton ash falls and in fact two days where everytime we went outside we had to wear masks. Also, we had one of the biggest hail/lightning/thunder/Rain storm of all time and all the streets flooded and we got soaked of course. Also, pretty much all of Atlixco lost power and so we had to cancel all of our lessons which kind of sucked. So we had to go to the store and buy a bunch of Virgen Mary and Saints candles to light our house which is kinda funny.
Also, something epic has been happening this month. So basically one month ago we contacted this one dude who lives in a town in our area in a HUGE house. And he let us in and after the appointment he told us to come back in a couple of days.
And so a couple of days passed and we went back and he wasnt there. And so this happened to us for 3 weeks in a row and after 3 weeks he finally answered to us. But it turns out that he just casually went to JERUSALEM for 3 weeks!! Like where Jesus and his ministry happened. And we were like what, this random dude from the middle of nowhere in Mexican straight up went to Jerusalem for 3 weeks what the heck. But, it turns out that he is the PRESIDENT of Axocopan.
And so basically during these weeks we have become best friends with the president of this town. We got invited to this private party of his and he always gives us rides and we sometimes go to his house to teach him but basically he is never going to progress because he is MAD catholic and literally had a catholic church in his house. And the people of yhe town would kill him too so that sucks. But basically we are the vice presidents of this town in México which us a cool title to have.
Also, one of our families in teaching had their baby!!! And when we had a lesson to meet the baby and check on the family, we accidentaly named their baby!!! We were testifying of baptism and why we dont baptize kids and we said that their baby is an ángel without sin and cant decide to be baptized. And they were like YES!!! Thats the name!!! Angela!! So that was pretty cool. And i dont know but there is a special spirit in a house with a newborn baby. I mean, they just came to this earth from their heavenly father, It was just a really cool lesson.
One of my favorite scriptures in the Book or Mormón is 4 Nephi verses 16&17 that say:
"And there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God. 17 There were no robbers, nor murderers, neither were there Lamanites, nor any manner of -ites; but they were in one, the children of Christ, and heirs to the kingdom of God."
I love this scripture so much because it talks about Happiness and Divisions in the Church. First, if we truly become like Christ without strifes and without envyings, we will become happier, especially when we follow through and act on the teachings of Jesús Christ.
Also, I love where it says there werent any ites of any kind. They were one in Christ. Everybody. And its the same with us. There are no divisions between us, missionaries, members, friends, family, new investigadors, leaders... no we are worth great things in the Eyes of the Lord. We are children of God. Do not ever forget that simple truth. We are all in this together, with Christ in every step. One in him. I love you all and have an amazing week!!
