The Tree Older Than 500 Years
What's up everybody and welcome back to another episode of House Hunters: Mexico Edition. So just sit back, relax, and enjoy this whack adventure with me.
Ok so a little background basically half the time its impossible to find houses here. None of them are marked and its so hard to find addresses. And the Mexican directions are built different. Well half time we have to just ask everyone in the towns who this person is because everyone knows everyone. Sometimes we get answers like "Oh he is dead" or "Ahh yes he lives about 5 streets down with the Black dog" or sometimes people just tell us their life stories so thats fun.
The other day we were in one of our small towns and we get a call from one of people interested in getting taught and when we asked him where he lived, he told us "You'll find me and my friends under The Tree Thats Older Than 500 Years"
And then we were like what the heck what in the World is going on. So we went on a Hunt and we went to every member and all the people on the street told us a different direction and everything. So that was fun. After like an hour of searching, we found this huge tree with some dudes under it. But it turno out that we literally had a session of Phone calls two days prior under this tree. So it turns out were just idiots.
Buuuuuut then we pulled up and they were smoking weed and all drinking beers and we were like wow this is awesome.
Also, Ive been wanting to mention this for a while but some of the people in teaching have some reeeaaalll interesting beliefs. For example, we were teaching this one person the Plan of Salvation and we asked him what happened before this life and he went off!! Basically he explained to us that before this life we passed through 3 kingdoms. First we were all minerals, and after that we turned into plants, and eventually made it into the animal kingdom where we are now.
Ok but this takes the cake. After Jesus Christ died he was reincarnated 137 times in 3 days until he eventually made it back to his body. He explained to us that he was transformed into a river, a shoe, a sword, a fish and other things. And then he explained to us the same things happen to us and our lives are like a scale counting all the bad things and good things in our lives. So, basically if you do more good things in this life, you will be rewarded into a Cooper thing in your next life.
Also, my companion bought a Caja de Toques which is basically a thing with handles that shocks you if hold them. Its like a popular game or competition thing here in México. So, there are basically 10 leves and I got to level 9 and then it malfunctioned or something and it shockeante me it was absolutely hilarious. Ill drop the video so you can watch.
My spiritual thought this week comes from 2nd Nephi 31:21 which says,
"And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen."
There is only 1 God: Our Heavenly Father. There is only 1 name under which we can be saved: Jesus Christ. There is only one gospel, one doctrine, and one church: The Everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the reason why I love teaching the restoration so much. Because in a World of confusion and sooo many different paths, we have a light, a direction, and a path. The Gospel of Jesus Christ contained in the Bible and Book of Mormón, being restored in the modern Days by Joseph Smith, is our wsy of the life. And the blessings that we have been promised in eternal life and Salvation!! And I can not think of a blessing more profound and special than this.
